The speaker committee needs your ideas for presentations or speakers, so please send them to him for exciting programs.
We are about to start a new year for Rotary. We are always looking for speakers. There are no set rules for the speakers, and we welcome diverse people. If you have anyone in mind, please contact me via e-mail, and we will work to invite them to a meeting.

Member Spotlight -  Terry Schacht

Where were you born, education/degrees or associations/board seats? I was born in West Bend, Wisconsin at 11:57 a.m. – just in time for lunch.  I earned my BBA degree in Accounting from UW-Whitewater in December 1980 and my MBA from UW-Milwaukee in May 1995.  I’ve been involved in numerous not-for-profit organizations (Chamber, Boy Scouts, Rotary, various sport clubs, etc.), and a few for-profit organizations for which I was a shareholder.

What did you want to be when you grew up? This is one of those times when I made my parents nervous. Apparently, at the age of 4, I wanted to be a garbage man (now known as a “Sanitation Engineer”). This went on for 5 or 6 years. Who knew garbage and recycling would be as lucrative as it is today?

Name of company & position: I currently own Express Employment Professionals, with offices in Mequon and Jackson. We provide good people with good jobs at good companies throughout Ozaukee, Washington, and northern Milwaukee counties.

Family: I believe most of you seasoned Rotarians have met all my family.  Cindy and I have been married for over 30 years now.  Brad is a web content manager in Milwaukee, Kim is an Administrative Assistant at a Milwaukee law firm, and Adam is attending Fox Valley Technical College to become a diesel mechanic.

Interests/hobbies: I love golf, but I don’t get out often enough to be good.  We are also a sailing family, and on weekends, you’ll find me on our sailboat at the marina in Sheboygan.

Red Bud Thank You!

First, let me say ... a BIG THANK YOU to all Sunrisers and family members who came to Mequon's First Annual Redbud Festival and helped make it a success.  It was a good day with lots of opportunity to engage 'little' people and their adult companions. I think we represented Rotary's vision, mission and 4-way test very well.

Our raffle of  5-Redbuds-to-be-planted by Rotarians  was very successful.  At Friday's meeting this week, we will draw the Winning Ticket to find out where we need to deliver and plant those 5 trees.  We will also be asking for volunteers to help plant the trees.

AND, we have a special deal for anyone who wants a Redbud for themselves.  Bill Wandsnider is able to get a more Redbud trees at cost so we can make the following offer:
  • For M-T Sunrise Rotary members, we can offer 5 to 6 foot Redbud trees for $175 each
  • For non-Sunrise Rotary members, we can offer  5 to 6 foot Redbuds for $250 each, of which $100 of that price will go to M-T Sunrise Grants
We will accept tree orders this week until the end of our sunrise meeting on Friday, so you have a few days to think about it.

See you Friday!!
