Connie Honored as Pillar of the Community
CONNIE PUKAITE HONORED AS PILLAR OF THE COMMUNITY

On behalf of the Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation (MTCF), we would like to thank you for attending this year's Pillars of the Community Event on June 4th to honor former Mayor Connie Pukaite and her many contributions to the City of Mequon and the Village of Thiensville. The event was a resounding success with over 275 in attendance and a sold-out crowd, including many past mayors and other dignitaries. What a wonderful outpouring to show Connie firsthand the appreciation and respect we have for all she has done for our two communities!

Because of you, we were able to net $75,000 at the luncheon, with an impressive $45,000 being contributed during the paddle raise portion of the event! As you might recall, these monies will be used to develop a connector trail between Spirit Lake and Pukaite Woods, located on the northern edge of Rotary Park in Mequon. The remaining $30,000 raised that day will go into our general fund so MTCF can award future grants that align with and promote our mission: enhancing the quality of life in Mequon and Thiensville.

To view updates and photos of the event visit our website at: https://mtcfgives.org/potc/.

We would like to thank and recognize our generous sponsors: Platinum and Title Sponsor, Gential Financial; Gold Sponsor, Sommer's Automotive Group; and Silver Sponsor, Spectrum Investment Group.

And again, a most heartfelt Thank You to all who attended and helped make this year's POTC luncheon a most successful and memorable event!

With gratitude and appreciation,

Lori Lorenz, President

2024 Goals
This Friday, we will use our meeting time to plan for the upcoming year.

Let's plan to cover two things:

1) Committees: This year's committees are Club Service, Community Service, International, Youth, Vocational, Veterans, Club Operations, Grants and Foundation.  Let's make sure that all of our club members are signed up for at least one committee. We can review the committees' general activities for people who may not be familiar.

2) Club Goals: Rotary International requires us to set yearly club goals. I have set tentative goals for 2024-25, but I would like to go over them and get feedback. We may not get to all of them at this meeting. I am attaching a sheet that shows the goals.

Let's make sure to have some fun!

Annual Dues
Dear member,

Annual billing is once again being offered for Rotary dues.
The annual rate is $320; the quarterly rate is $80.
If you would like to participate in the annual billing, please respond.
I may have offered this in person,
but I don't trust my memory as to who replied and who didn't.

Paul Harris Fellows

Jo Ann Vetter is named the latest Paul Harris Fellow.

The Paul Harris Fellow award is one of the highest honors bestowed by Rotary International. It recognizes individuals who contribute, or in whose name is contributed, a specified amount of money to The Rotary Foundation. Named after Rotary's founder, Paul Harris, the award acknowledges significant contributions to humanitarian and educational programs, which improve lives and create a better world. Recipients of the award are presented with a certificate, medallion, and a lapel pin. It honors both Rotarians and non-Rotarians who exemplify Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self."
