Veterans Affairs Committee
Our new Veterans Affairs Committee (VAC).
 
I will be asking for volunteers to officially form up the committee. 
 
 
VAC Slogan : We Don’t Know Them All, But We Owe them All.
 
MTSR VAC Mission Statement:
Our committee is dedicated to educating Rotarians on Veterans affairs, provide support and assistance to current and former military service members residing in the communities that we serve as they transition from their service to the nation and seek opportunities and careers in our Rotary district service area. Many of these veterans have incurred service-connected disabilities which necessitate added individualized or specialized assistance efforts. This has resulted in a growing need for information and communication in specialized support and assistance programs for veterans in our local area following separation or retirement from active duty.
 
Here is a link to a Rotary Club Veterans Affairs Committee structure plan published by NAPA Rotary Club in Napa, CA. They have invested considerably in their committee and produced a solid template.
 
Additionally, here is a link to one story of a veteran returning home to civilian life. This article was published in the Rotarian magazine in November 2022.
 
 
Tour of the Milwaukee VA facilities on Thursday March 28.
Last, but not least, Jim Counsellor has coordinated an exclusive tour of the Milwaukee VA facilities on Thursday March 28.
We have a bus that will leave from the Thiensville Park lot at 8:00 an and return around noon.
All cost are subsidized, so the trip is at no cost to you.
We have 10 seats available for our Club, I will be in one of them.

Member Spotlight - Doreen Lettau

Hello!  I am Doreen Lettau.  I live in Cedarburg and have for most of my life.  I am blessed to have a 40+ year career in market and business development with great companies traveling throughout the world.  While the work was demanding and time-consuming, it was rewarding, and I never lost sight of the fact that I did to take care of others.  The corporations, team members, community, and my family were the beneficiaries of the growth we achieved, resulting in a better life for everyone. 
 
I served in Vice President and Director of market and business development leadership roles, where we worked diligently on the importance of culture and valuing people in everything we do.  I love to help grow businesses and people!  
 
I retired in June of this year (2023).  I now care for our home and yard, enjoy biking, and spoil our fur babies.  I volunteer for business development and marketing-related projects.  I stay close to my family, which includes brothers, sisters, and in-laws, with 16 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.  I am also blessed with many dear friends who are like family to me.  I include MT Sunrise Rotary in that cherished family whom I came to know over the past 15 years because of my husband Steve's involvement.
 
I am so thankful to be a member of this incredible and caring organization that is up to big things!
