You will recall that our Sunrise Club sent a young high school student, Isabella Grion, to the World Affairs Seminar (WAS) last June. Following her WAS experience, she made an enthusiastic presentation at one of our Friday morning meetings, demonstrating to us how valuable our Rotary efforts are to impress upon young people the importance of service above self and promoting peace in the world.
Isabella kept thinking about that experience and called me during her summer vacation to ask if we could help her start an Interact Service Club at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay where she is enrolled. Following my suggestions, Isabella identified and recruited other students representing Sophomore and Junior classes interested in leadership and service. I approached Rotary Clubs in Milwaukee County to secure a sponsoring Club.
The short story is on Friday September 29, I met with Isabella, another student - Elle, and Rotarian Page Radtke from The Milwaukee (downtown) Club. Paig is not only an alumna from Dominican, but she has a number of years of experience as a Rotoract member and leader. Our meeting was a terrific success - the young women hit it off nicely, and I left them planning to meet with Dominican's administration before kicking off the official formation of an Interact Club within the last quarter of this year.
Is this the 4th new Rotary club unit our Sunrise Club has been able to launch?? However, many ... it is such a privilege to be part of a club that keeps on expanding the number of people in the world who want to live by the values of Rotary.

Congratulations, Connie, on connecting Page with the students from Dominican HS to facilitate the RC of Milwaukee to sponsor an Interact Club. Rotary grows and positively impacts the world by adding new members to existing clubs and sponsoring new clubs. Thanks for your continued dedication to sponsoring both.
