What? So What? Now What? A Debriefing of the Series of Meaningful Conversations

This assembly will be an opportunity for us to reflect and debrief on what happened during these past ten months of Meaningful Conversations.  It will be a way to process the group’s experience and identify next steps to consider in support of diversity, equity and inclusion. The purpose and goals of these conversations were as follows.

PURPOSE
To create for members of the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary club an opportunity to listen and talk with people who are interested in exploring issues associated with racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The conversations will provide a safe environment for participants to engage in a thought-provoking journey to gain deeper understanding and facilitate greater connections with those with whom we converse.

GOAL
During the 2020-2021 year, through planned, guided and facilitated meaningful conversations we will strengthen our relationships, make new connections, gain deeper understanding, grow our knowledge, and renew our commitment to fairness and justice.

The large group will be divided into five small groups and a facilitator with guide the group to identify the answers to questions related to what? So what? and now what?

It is especially important to debrief and share your observations given such variety of presentations, different perspectives, and experiences. We can then decide what we can do with this knowledge and become engaged in a meaningful and effective manner.
