We are about to start a new year for Rotary. We are always looking for speakers. There are no set rules for the speakers, and we welcome diverse people. If you have anyone in mind, please contact me via e-mail, and we will work to invite them to a meeting.

2025 5th Annual Around the World Dinner

Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary 2025 5th Annual Around the World Dinner
HOLD THE DATE for our BIGGEST Fundraiser of the Year!
The Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club will hold its Annual AROUND THE WORLD dinner on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6 PM at Lumen Christi Church, 2750 W Mequon Road, Mequon, WI 53092.
This is not just a dinner, but a significant event that makes a profound impact on our local and global community.

Each year, the club has a fund-a-cause.  Last year was a “Theme of Supporting Locally - Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.”   We raised over $20,000 last year which was dispersed to 3 nonprofit organizations serving our Veterans.  This year we will continue to support Mental Health in our community.

Prepare your taste buds for a delightful journey! There is always delicious food, and this year is no exception. It includes a rich variety of cuisines from Nepal, Ukraine, and Central America.
Throughout the evening, we will be hosting a silent auction, followed by a lively live auction. These auctions feature a variety of fun and tasty items to bid on.  Last year, the generous donations from the AROUND THE WORLD Event allowed the M-T Sunrise Rotary to assist over 30 different organizations, making a significant impact on our community both locally and globally.

If you would like to be a sponsor let us know at Schlag911@earthlink.net.  Auction items can be donated by contacting monicatme3@gmail.com.  Tickets for the event will go on sale in August.

My Rotary sponsor is Stan Smith from the noon club. I owned two small homes adjacent to City Hall and was working on a potential development project.  I met Stan at the Mequon Town Center Committee, which was trying to create development in the area, Stan recommended that I join Rotary to get involved in the community. Almost 15 years later, my membership in Rotary has been life-changing both personally and professionally.  We often refer to our group as “Our Rotary Family,” a group of like-minded individuals who are committed to service and each other. I have had many “Rotary Moments” over the years. Recently, John Cabanas invited me to join his bike club, picked me up, and introduced me to a new group of friends.
