As you prepare to move away, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all you’ve done for the MT Sunrise Rotary Club. You've brought your unique life experiences, warmth, and a boundless spirit of service that have truly enriched our club and community.
Your journey from Washington, D.C., through Kansas, Vietnam, and college sports has shaped you into a person of resilience and dedication. The stories you’ve shared—whether about growing up with the "anything is possible" outlook, your Air Force years, or your time in Milwaukee—have been inspiring. From your contributions in the financial world to your passion for sailboat racing, you've shown us all the rewards of a life well-lived.
We know that your work with the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center and the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin will continue to leave a lasting impact. But more than anything, we’ll miss the joy you bring to each meeting and event, your kindness, and the friendship you've extended to each of us.
As you move forward to this new chapter, please know that you will always have a place here in our hearts and in the MT Sunrise Rotary Club. Thank you for your incredible dedication and service, and we wish you fair winds and following seas in all your future endeavors.

The speaker committee needs your ideas for presentations or speakers, so please send them to him for exciting programs.
We are about to start a new year for Rotary. We are always looking for speakers. There are no set rules for the speakers, and we welcome diverse people. If you have anyone in mind, please contact me via e-mail, and we will work to invite them to a meeting.
At our meetings, the Greeter will provide either the thought, a Rotary minute, share a family moment or a cultural tradition ... anything with which they would like to start off the day positive.

Hi, I’m Bruce Carter! I live in Thiensville and work for Advocate Aurora as Vice President Home Health overseeing the Wisconsin and Chicago marketplace. I serve as Secretary for the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation, where I have been a board member for 3 years. I’m also a CPA who does individual taxes for a number of clients during tax season. My downtime is spent serving the community in various ways through giving and serving others in need locally in Milwaukee.
I have four children and 2 grandsons. My oldest daughter Bridget lives in Houston where she teaches the 5th grade, married, with two adorable boys ages 4 and 1. My oldest son William just relocated to Charlotte, NC where he passed the BAR exam and is working for a law firm. My daughter Olivia relocated to Brooklyn, NY in July, where she works for the Hearst Corporation and following her dream in stand-up comedy. My youngest son, Andrew attends Kansas State University where he is a senior majoring in HR Management.
The most important lesson learned in business is to over-communicate and add value. I value service over self and find the four-way test very useful, especially during recent mergers and acquisitions.
World War I—known at the time as “The Great War”—officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles near the town of Versailles, France. However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, Nov. 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”
Veterans Day continues to be observed on Nov. 11, regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to Nov. 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date but helps focus attention on the purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s Veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
