We are about to start a new year for Rotary. We are always looking for speakers. There are no set rules for the speakers, and we welcome a diverse group of people. If you have anyone in mind, please contact me via email, and we will work to invite them to a meeting.

Rotary Moment - Carol J. Wessels

DISCLAIMER! I let Chat GPT write this bio:

Lives in: Cedarburg, Wisconsin — where the coffee is strong and so is the clay dirt, the flowers are stubborn, and the neighbors wave.
Hobbies: Gardening until the mosquitoes arrive, photographing birds that refuse to pose, and dogs that occasionally will pose,  stalking the elusive Green Heron, and knitting my way through Knitting the National Parks.
Special Skills: Packing the perfect national park backpack. Spotting dogs from incredible distances.
Greatest Joy: A wagging tail, a perfect lily bloom, or the last stitch in a tricky hat pattern. (Real Carol adds: my real greatest joy is seeing our three kids happy and secure.)
Current Events: looking forward with great anticipation to my son Ken’s wedding in Chicago on August 23.
Life Motto: Life is better with dogs. Keep your garden watered, your yarn untangled, and your camera ready. Life lesson: You will always see the best birds when you left your camera at home.

Speaker Friday Elizabeth “Liz” Nevitt, District Governor

Liz is a fourth generation Rotarian.
She joined the Menasha Rotary Club in 1998 and moved to the Ripon Rotary Club in 2012.
Liz served as President of each club twice, and held other club leadership roles.
At the District level, she served as Assistant Governor for three years,
District Family of Rotary Resource Group Coordinator and has been the District Stewardship Subcommittee Chair for the past three years.
Liz is also a Rotary Foundation Major Donor, Paul Harris Sustaining Member, and the District's newest PolioPlus Society member.
All-user Playground

Hey M-T Sunrise Rotarians,

We are excited that our Club voted to build an All-user Playground in Mequon at Mequon Rotary Park. This is a joint project with the Thiensville-Mequon Noon Rotary Club.

On Saturday, September 6, our two clubs are volunteering at Taste of Mequon for 2-hour shifts to educate the community about Rotary and the playground. Please sign up for a shift by clicking here: https://www.signupgenius.com/

Save-the-date - Wednesday, October 1 -  for this event at Mequon Rotary Park's Reuter Pavilion. We invite you to bring your family and friends to learn more about our project! Melinda Pearson and Jill Moore, experts from Landscape Architects, are our featured speakers.  See the attached flyer reminder.

We are grateful to have the full club's support and involvement for this project!

To learn more about this important project check out our website at mequonrotarypark.com or reach out to me directly.
