Our next meeting will be Friday (1/25) at Newcastle Place, 12600 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon, WI  53092.

Friday's program will feature Christine Bohn, Project Coordinator Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, who will give us a Pukaite Woods Update.

The greeter will provide either the thought, a Rotary minute, share a family moment or a cultural tradition ... anything they would like to start off the day positive.

DualCon 2019 - Be The Inspiration 

DualCon 2019 is a collaborative District Conference of two Rotary Districts for Rotarians in District 6220, and District 6270. All Rotarians from Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and eastern Minnesota, with their significant others and families, and other Rotarians and friends of Rotary are welcome.

It is coordinated by District Governor - Ann Fuge, D6220 (Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan), and District Governor - Kola Alayande, D6270 (Southeast Wisconsin); with the assistance of Conference Chairs - Barb Senn & Dave Anderson, Conference Treasurer - Steve Handrick, and other members of the conference committees from both Districts.

The goals for the event are to:

  • Celebrate Rotarians in both Rotary districts.
  • Be family friendly.
  • Connect with Youth and the young at heart.
  • Present great speakers and programs.
  • Exchange information with all attendees.
Looking back at 10 years of riding to end polio

Roughly 10 years ago, Rotarian Michael J. Harris of the Casas Adobes Rotary was debating ways to help small Rotary clubs take advantage of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s 2:1 match for contributions to PolioPlus. For some time, Mike had also lobbied Perimeter Bicycling to allow Rotary to field a team in El Tour de Tucson as one of the ride’s “beneficiaries.”  He thought that would be a great opportunity for clubs large or small. Mike could not have imagined what his pet project would become. Or, knowing Mike, maybe he could.

Mike left us in 2011—way too early, and too soon to see his dream bear fruit.

Tracy Rothman is currently consulting with Uihlein Soccer Park as the Director of Business Development. An MBA graduate of the University of Chicago, Tracy was formerly an Area Sales Director for a division of Baxter Healthcare. She has held several leadership roles with local non-profit organizations and is now combining her love of sports with her business experience to help bring Milwaukee on par with the rest of the Midwest.
