Seth joined Rotary on February 2, 2009, and Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Club on September 18, 2015 and just recently semi-retired.  Seth will provide an update on his life. We already know he is a music genius, how is semi-retirement treating you Seth?

The project  will start this spring, and our club has donated funds for the project that will link to Rotary Park.

An update on the work to have more safe spaces for everyone to walk, bike and be active outside, building the future where trails create new connections for people to each other, their communities, and the places they want to go. The route of the Badger project. 

Learn about all the services Advocates of Ozaukee provides to domestic and sexual violence survivors.  Discuss dynamics of sexual violence and other forms of abuseGain an understanding of how to support victims.  Presentation will be interactive.  There will be a group activity.

Mary Knetter is the Sexual Violence Victim Services Director at Advocates of Ozaukee.  She has worked over 26 years with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families.  In addition, she provides workshops, trainings and presentations to youth and adults on issues surrounding domestic violence, dating violence, harassment, consent and sexual assault.

Dr. Laurie Marks has built a career engaging young people in experiential learning aimed at building community leaders and a strong future workforce through career exploration and development. She currently works full-time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as the Executive Director of the Center for Student Experience and Talent, where she oversees community engagement, career services, internships, and on-campus student employment. Dr. Marks also teaches in the Educational Policy and Community Studies Department at UWM, as well as in Peace Studies at Marquette University..

Nicholas Boehlke is the Deputy Chief of the Southern Ozaukee Fire and EMS Department, bringing 22 years of experience in the fire service. He specializes in training, building high-performing teams, and leading system-level changes to enhance service delivery. 

An Air Force veteran, he holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from Concordia University and both an M.A. in Foreign Language and Linguistics and an M.S. in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

His presentation will include:  The origin of SOFD,  who we are and what we do and the future of SOFD.

We will meet at the Friendship Cafe located at 8649 N Port Washington Rd. Fox Point.  

Emily Strickler is the President and Co-Owner of Care Patro Milwaukee and Ana Castaneda is Senior Care Advisor  

Emily is a resident of Cedarburg, having previously raised her family in Whitefish Bay. She holds degrees in Psychology, Women's Studies, and Communication from Miami University. Before her tenure with CarePatrol, Ms. Strickler amassed experience in the long-term care industry, serving in various capacities to assist seniors and their families in navigating the complexities of transitioning from their homes to Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Care, or In-Home Care. Her commitment is centered on service to others, and she possesses extensive experience collaborating with families, providers and caregivers as an advocate and educator on issues affecting older adults and their families.
