I’m TJ Rinaldi, your trainer for Rotary District 6270. In just a week you’ll be asked to expand your entire vision of Rotary in your town, and maybe even the world. It won’t come without a little stretching of your basic Rotary knowledge. We’re here to help with that. Next Wednesday night you will participate in District 6270’s third of six OneRotary Summits. It will be intense and focused; we aim to spend a short two hours which will go by faaaast.

We polled your membership on which Rotary topics you’d like to focus on. You WILL walk away with some very clear and simple steps in any of the four attached topics you may choose from. These four attachments carry questions for the individual sessions which each of you can choose to attend in the first part of the evening. Please choose one and print it off so that you can work on communicating with whomever you need to in your club to get the answers to the questions, thus developing your club’s profile. Do not underestimate how important it is to be prepared for the ORS- it’s only a short 2 hours so things need to be done around the focused learning: food, drinks, networking, fellowship, and of course the attached club profiles.

Plan to arrive early if you would like some food or to get a couple of cocktails. We will begin working at 6pm sharp. The first section is done by using the attached topic of your choice to mastermind in a roundtable format. If you’re well prepared, your club may be one of the selected ‘spotlight clubs’ which will have the dedicated focus of all the other area clubs’ expertise…… not to mention the District expert on hand to aid as well.

The second section is structured then as a Q&A so that confusion stimulated by the ORS can be handled if you, in fact, choose to attend the same topic’s breakout. It is not necessary to attend the same one, however.

So note that after the first section you will all have an opportunity to pick the same topic, another topic, or the BONUS computer skills workshop for Q&A. The experts will be on hand to assist, refer, and provide take-home materials. If you have an extra computer and want to work through Club Central or MyRotary, bring it.

Tips for your group then:

  • Get 1/4 to 1/3 of your club there to effectively cover all topics
  • Make sure at least someone represents your club in each section with all answers to that session’s questions done beforehand
  • Come early; arrive by 5:15-5:30 to get some food and have a drink or two. Everyone needs to be ready to work at 6p sharp.
  • Participants can either choose the same topic or branch to another in the second section. Handouts are provided in both sections.
  • Use your club president as a resource for you beforehand to answer questions and recruit more in your group. These tasks, remember, are best handled by your club trainer!! Get a club trainer!
  • Carpool?

We look forward to seeing you Wednesday November 9, from 6-8pm:
