The 2017 festival season in Cedarburg begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, with Winter Fest, which continues until Sunday afternoon.

The newest addition to this year's festival will be the grand opening of the Cedarburg History Museum, where guests will be treated to complimentary ice cream at the museum's old-fashioned ice cream parlor.

After taking in information about the history of the city at the museum, visitors can head over to the Community Center and climb aboard the Spudmobile from the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association for the potato industry's most comprehensive educational and informational resource center on wheels.

The Winter Festival Grand Parade takes place Saturday afternoon as the "Parade of Beds" make its way up Washington Avenue from St. Francis Borgia Church to Boy Scout Park.

For the competitor, there will be chili contests, the costumed bed races on ice, the ice carving contest, and the dodgeball tournament. Registration for competitors can be found at the Festivals of Cedarburg website.

After a day full of exciting activities, visitors can wind down with food, drink, and music at the Cool Brew and Tunes event Saturday night at the Community Center. There will be food sampling from local restaurants and beer and wine tasting from the Fermentorium, Cedar Creek Winery, and Silvercreek Brewpub. Enjoy live music from the popular Milwaukee-based Dueling Pianos.
