Mequon named top K-12 district in state
By Jeff Rumage
Mequon — For the second consecutive year, the Mequon-Thiensville School District has been named the top K-12 school district in the state by the state's Department of Public Instruction.
The DPI released report cards this week for all Wisconsin public schools and school districts for the 2013-14 school year. Mequon-Thiensville ranked as the top K-12 school district in the state of Wisconsin with an overall accountability score of 86.1. This is the second consecutive year Mequon-Thiensville has received this recognition.
"I want to thank our students, teachers and parents for their continued commitment to our district's success," said Mequon-Thiensville Superintendent Demond Means. "The report cards reinforce the educational excellence that we model each and every day at all six of our schools."
All six of MTSD's schools scored 83 or higher on the DPI issued school report cards, meaning they all "Significantly Exceed Expectations."
Mequon-Thiensville, Fox Point-Bayside and Whitefish Bay all reached the DPI's top standard: "significantly exceeds expectations." Nicolet, Glendale-River Hills, Maple Dale-Indian Hills and Shorewood all reached the next tier: "exceeds expectations." Brown Deer "meets expectations," according to the DPI.
Here's how North Shore districts scored on the report cards:

The Wild Rock course is spectacular:

Gary D'Amato rated it as the second best course he evaluated since 1999. #1 was Whistling Straits
Based on player feedback this June, Golf Advisor rated Wild Rock as their #1 course overall in the US including #1 ratings for conditioning and value
I have tee times reserved for 11AM on Tuesday, September 23rd. The cost will be $49. We'd leave here at 8 AM and be back by 7 or 8 PM, depending on what we do for dinner.
