Member Spotlight -  Terry Schacht

Where were you born, education/degrees or associations/board seats? I was born in West Bend, Wisconsin at 11:57 a.m. – just in time for lunch.  I earned my BBA degree in Accounting from UW-Whitewater in December, 1980 and my MBA from UW-Milwaukee in May, 1995.  I’ve been involved in numerous not-for-profit organizations (Chamber, Boy Scouts, Rotary, various sport clubs, etc.) and then a few for-profit organizations for which I was a shareholder in.

What did you want to be when you grew up? This is one of those times where I made my parents nervous.  Apparently at the age of 4, I wanted to be a garbage man (now known as “Sanitation Engineer”).  This went on for 5 or 6 years.  Who knew garbage and recycling would be as lucrative as it is today?

Name of company & position: Currently, I own Express Employment Professionals with offices in Mequon and Jackson.  We provide good people good jobs at good companies throughout Ozaukee, Washington and northern Milwaukee counties.

Family: I believe most of you seasoned Rotarians have met all my family.  Cindy and I have been married for 30 years now.  Brad, 26, is a web content manager in Milwaukee, Kim, 24, is an Administrative Assistant at a Milwaukee law firm and Adam, 18, is attending Fox Valley Technical College to become a diesel mechanic.

Interests/hobbies: I love to golf but I don’t get out often enough to be any good.  We are also a sailing family and weekends you’ll find me on our sailboat at the marina in Sheboygan.

By Andrew Gruman, Now News Group

For the past two seasons, the Homestead girls tennis team has not been stopped.

The Highlanders capped their second consecutive WIAA Division 1 state team championship with a 5-2 victory over Neenah in the championship match Oct. 21 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.

Homestead has now won seven team state girls tennis championships and have won in consecutive seasons for the first time since winning five straight from 2008-12.

The win over Neenah (15-2) capped the Highlanders team record at 26-0, leaving Homestead at a perfect 53-0 over the past two seasons.
