Member Spotlight - Andrea Jorgensen

I grew up in Mequon and attended Homestead High School. I went to college at the University of Denver—the Business school at DU didn’t have classes on Fridays so I would plan my schedule to be done on Thursdays at noon and start on Mondays at 2 pm to maximize my ski days!

When I graduated, I moved to New York and worked in the fashion industry for 3 years for Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta. I LOVE New York, but eventually decided I wanted to be back in Milwaukee and closer to family.

I moved back and started at Baird 5 years ago on the trading floor in Institutional Equities. I spent three years on the floor and learned a lot about finance and the market, but missed the client interaction I had in my previous roles in NYC, so I decided to move to Private Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor with The Sommersberger Group in Baird’s Mequon office. I love being able to help clients with financial planning and seeing them achieve their goals.

In my free time, I love to travel, ski, road bike, read, walk/hike with my yellow lab Zoe, and spend time with my friends and family.

I joined Rotary to network and get more involved in the Mequon-Thiensville community as well as to volunteer my time. Giving back has always been a huge part of my life. My mom had my brother and I volunteering since we were little, and I went on to join the Service Club of Milwaukee where I was a leader of the ball in fundraising. I love that Rotary is involved in so many different avenues and that there are countless ways to give back!

Froedtert & the Medical College plan small-scale ‘neighborhood hospital’ in Mequon

Designed to ease capacity constraints at Froedtert Hospital

By Lauren Anderson - BizTimes

The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network is planning a new small-scale “neighborhood hospital” across the street from its recently-opened health center on North Port Washington Road in Mequon.

The 17,000-square-foot hospital will include a seven-bed emergency department and eight inpatient beds. It’s planned for a parcel of vacant land on North Port Washington Road, directly across the street from the Froedtert & MCW Mequon Health Center at 11430 N. Port Washington Road.
