I hope this newsletter finds everyone well. Make sure you get out and enjoy that sunshine today!
I would like to recognize all the effort that has been put in by the Anniversary Party Planning Committee, the Awards Committee and countless others who have just pitched in to help out. It’s truly that will-do spirit and that selfless dedication that makes me proud to be a Rotarian and honored to serve this Club. Keep up the great work everybody, our time to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labors will be upon us soon.
As I watch and listen to this celebration come together, I am continuously reminded of the impact and the goodwill that not only our M-T Sunrise Club, but all of Rotary has had on our community and our world. The countless families that have been impacted and the lives that have been changed for the better. It’s staggering. So I hope that each and every one of you will walk into our Anniversary celebration with head-high and chest out, WE have allot to be proud of and it’s time to celebrate our successes of the past and plan for our successes of the future. I hope that our newest Rotarians will enjoy the sense of accomplishment of those before us and be inspired to be begin or serve on that next projects that we will celebrate at our 50th Anniversary celebration. I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

Thiensville scoops up new ice cream stand By Jeff Rumage
Thiensville - There was an unexpected sweet spot on this year's Memorial Day parade route: the Village Scoop ice cream tent in Molyneux Park.
About 300 people stopped for a scoop of ice cream on Memorial Day, a trend Village Scoop owners hope will continue throughout the rest of the summer season.
The three owners plan to wheel out the ice cream cart from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the weather gets too cold. The Village Scoop will also be at the Thiensville Farmers Market on Tuesdays.
The three owners of the ice cream business were introduced to each other over their shared sweet tooth.
Rotary has been part of Hardeep Kaur Singh’s life for as long as she can remember. Now it’s helping to determine her future too: After she participated in a PolioPlus immunization campaign in Caborca, Mexico, as a Rotaractor in February 2014, she decided to pursue a career in medicine.
THE ROTARIAN: How did you become involved with Rotary?
SINGH: My dad, Jatinder Singh, is a member of the Rotary Club of Rio Hondo-Vernon, Calif. Every year, club members travel to Valle de las Palmas, near Tecate, Mexico. I have been going with them since I was five years old. We provide food, blankets, toys, books, and clothes to families there. Recently, we were there again, and we helped over 100 families in just a couple of hours. Participating in this project from such a young age motivated me to be more involved in Rotary, and so many Rotarians in my dad’s club and in the Orange County Rotary district have inspired me. When I went to college at the University of California, Irvine, I joined Rotaract. In 2013-14, I served as governor of the Rotaract district that covers Orange and Los Angeles counties
