How fitting as we wrap up August with our last meeting this Friday, we’ll be doing it right with the induction of our club’s newest member Andrea Jorgensen. Our thanks go out to TM Noon Rotarian Greg Sommersberger who recommended our club to Andrea and to our members who made Andrea feel welcome on her first and subsequent visits. We all set goals for ourselves and our businesses and RI President Ian H.S. Riseley has set membership goals for Rotary year 2017-18. Ian asks us to increase our gender balance and lower the average age of our members. As part of the Presidential Citation it becomes specific. Clubs 50 members and under need to have net gain of a member, or net gain of a female member, or net gain of someone under 40. So thanks Andrea, you have already helped us on all three of those goals. President Cindy sets her goals higher, as she does in business, and has our club finishing the Rotary year on 30 June with 55 members. That is 7 more members more than our current number. Cindy has done this to keep us moving forward in order to achieve our club’s ultimate goal of 75 members by 2021. That is the number that we had set at last year’s Visioning Session. I may be biased, but I think that every month is "membership month" for Rotary and our club. We are “Positive People Driven to Serve” and we all know leaders who would like to exchange ideas and take action with us. It starts with an invitation to join us for breakfast, Lobsterfest or working on service project. So please get your “ask" in gear and help us grow our club, another club. an Interact or Rotaract club. Thanks, Brian MT Co-Chair Membership |
