A Rotary LOL Moment

Member Spotlight - Bill Wandsnider

Hi! Bill here, former large animal trainer and now large equipment owner. It's easy for me to know which is more insane!

Lately winter has caused me to have some childhood reminisces - ice skating on the frozen creek and coming back with " soakers", swinging on the barn rope in the hay loft, some of my tree houses and swimming in the quarries.

I have two great kids, young women really, they are both on their way to becoming productive citizens. Interesting to watch your kids grow up and their personalities mature. My Rotary friends were a huge support to me when my wife Sandy died. I now am with a wonderful woman, Joan. We are in the process of renovating a home together in Mequon. It will be emotional to leave my currant home.

I like standing in cool spots around the world. The picture is me recently standing over the equator in Ecuador. It was cool to stand at the spot in Portugal where Henry the Navigator sent his ships out in Portugal and the tip of Africa too!

Developing beautiful landscapes has been my career. It still remains fascinating to bring a conversation to life although I feel I still struggle with the sales process. I have a degree in landscape architecture from Madison. My latest endeavor is Billy Goat Mulch. That's were the really big equipment comes into play.

I enjoy outdoor activities like biking, hiking and x-c skiing. I think learning to roll my kayak was a greater achievement than skiing the Birkie!

What I most love about our Rotary group is the great diversity. I don't want to be around every one who is just like me!

Also for the first time "ever" I actually watched a whole football game and even paid attention! I was rooting for the Eagles. I am now such a big boy!!

Two brothers take aim at eliminating hepatitis

By Fred Mesquita, Rotary Club of São Paulo-Jardim das Bandeiras, São Paulo, Brazil

Two brothers, a car, one important social cause, a lot of courage, and many adventures along the way. That’s how our Expedition “Me Leva Junto” (Take me with you) began in October 2015, now more commonly known as the “Hepatitis Zero Expedition.”

My brother José Eduardo and I completed the first stage of our expedition, the Americas, in December, traveling through 20 countries and visiting 274 cities on the American continent. All our efforts are volunteer; there is no sponsorship from any company or organization.

Blood Circulation, Essential Oils and Chiropractic

Dr. Fisher is originally from Kansas City. He attended Northern Michigan University while wrestling at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Marquette. Dr. Fisher enjoys helping others and has been treated by chiropractors since he was 3 days old. He understands the benefits of preventative chiropractic care to families and kids of all ages, which is why he became a Chiropractor. He is a graduate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. Dr. Fisher and his wife Kristen have relocated to Wisconsin to be closer to family.

Dr. Fisher utilizes a wide range of treatment techniques to help you get better. Manual tissue therapies, ultrasound and muscle stimulation are used when indicated to speed up healing times. Dr. Fisher is experienced in workers’ compensation injuries, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and spinal/extremity manipulation. (Just as the spine needs adjusting when misaligned – so do shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles.)

Dr. Fisher gets great results treating back pain, sciatica, neck pain, sprain/strains and headaches, also plantar fasciitis and carpal tunnel along with many other conditions. Ask about Dr. Fisher’s community service opportunities such as health screenings/fairs, wellness classes, stress free lunch breaks, massage, repetitive lifting techniques and ergonomic instruction available to the public, local organizations and businesses.

Currently, Dr. Fisher is a volunteer wrestling coach at Homestead High School, a dedicated member of the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber and Sunrise Rotary. He is also on the leadership committee of the Grafton BNI.
