The Archaeology of a Late Prehistoric Horticultural Village in Wisconsin's Northern Highland

After completing his graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Mark worked for the USDA Forest Service, for 30 years, as an archeologist and resource manager. Mark currently serve as an archeologist and compliance review specialist for Commonwealth Heritage Group Inc., in Milwaukee.

My research focuses on the time just prior to European exploration, and how Native people in northern Wisconsin created a sophisticated system of agriculture and crop storage, an evolving economy cut short by population collapse resulting from the introduction of European diseases.
