With the new Rotary year effective July 1, 2011, the Avenues of Service committees are in the process of reforming under new leadership. This year the Avenue chairs are:

  • Club Service - Lee Szymborski
  • Community Service - Lynn Streeter
  • International - Lance Parve
  • Vocational - Lucia Francis
  • New Generations - Mark Hauschel

Carole Blaney, the new President, has decided to continue the three chairs established by Sharon Pechiva, Immediate Past President: Tim Hamilton will continue as Membership chair, Wally Sommer as the Rotary Foundation chair, and Lynn Streeter as Community Awareness chair.  Changes may be made over the next month as the Avenues of Service Chairs and their committees confer.

Each member of the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club chooses the Avenue of Service committee or committees on which they will serve. The chairperson for each of the Avenues of Service committees keeps the Board of Directors informed of plans, needs, and progress toward their goals.

We work hard to ensure that our service projects are successful. Each project must

  • Have specific, realistic goals with measurable results
  • Respond to identified needs
  • Incorporate the abilities of the people served
  • Recognize the importance of all participants' contributions
  • Use available resources effectively
  • Build networks for future service projects

The following sections list the committee members for each of the Avenues of Service as we transition from the 2010 to the 2011 Club year. As the committees put together their plans and focus for the year some changes may be made, so visit this page from time to time for updates on each committee's service projects and objectives.
